Cutenews has not hurt our server.

There are some problems with Cutenews and I have heard it's very easy to hack, and in that way it can be harmful to the server it's installed on. I don't know any details about though :/

I've used it before. I'm not sure if it's harmful to servers, but I didn't really like it =\. I recommend Fan Update, I also hear Word Press is good ^__^

I used Cutenews for all my sites for more than two years, and I loved it and I never had any problems with it. But apparently it has been hacked several times so I personally wouldn't take the risk. I recently installed FanUpdate on my site and I like it better than Cutenews actually, very easy to customize which is important to me

It's not harmful to the server, but it's easily hacked into.

I used it for a little while, but switched to FanUpdate, which I like a million times better.
